Ceramics made by Kayla Granoff L’Heureux

About the Artist

Kgclayware is owned and operated by Kayla (Granoff) L’Heureux. To Kayla, pottery is extremely personal. She views each item made as a piece that will become part of the fabric of another person’s day to day life. Kayla graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelors degree in Studio Art in 2014. There she concentrated in ceramics. Her senior year at UNH she earned the Edwin and Mary Scheier Ceramics Fellowship. Prior to that she interned at the Currier Museum of Art’s Art Center, within the Ceramics Department.

Kayla has always been drawn to the connection of form and function. Clay quickly became her favorite medium in college because of the way it allows for total creativity within the possibility of functionality. Clay is uniquely forgiving and malleable. To Kayla, working with clay is equal parts challenging, rewarding, and meditative.

After completing her undergraduate degree, Kayla completed her Masters of Arts in Teaching at UNH in 2015. After spending 6 years teaching elementary art in Pembroke, New Hampshire, Kayla decided to realign her careers and now spends her days teaching yoga and running her pottery business as a solo-entrepreneur. Kayla creates and fires her work at her home in Manchester NH.
